Default Guitar Hero?

Avid Guitar Hero/Rock Band fan here. I recently heard that Rock Band 2 was announced for this September (that was quick) and Guitar Hero 4 was announced also.

2 points I made this thread.

1. Anyone who has Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, is it worth the $60? I'm not sure about getting it, as I'm not a huge Aerosmith fan (I only know about 5 or 6 songs of theirs, but they're all good, imo).

2. I've been hearing rumors of Guitar Hero: The Who, and a possible Guitar Hero: Metallica. 2 of my most favorite bands ever getting their own Guitar Hero game? Too good to be true? Anyone know?

I want Guitar Hero: AC/DC. Or for any AC/DC content in GH or RB. No love for the dirty Aussie/Brit hard rock pensioners

From what I've read, Aerosmith is a perfectly good Guitar Hero game - if you like Aerosmith. More effort went into it than rocks the 80's, the notecharts are much improved from Guitar hero 3's unco shred heavy charts, and overall the visual style was improved. but yeah, it's like 80% Aerosmith, so if you aren't a fan, you won't enjoy the music. Guitar Hero Metallica has been confirmed by Activision. Planning to release it early next year, probably same deal as Aerosmith (60-80% Metallica, visually themed after the band, no DLC support).

I couldn't care less about Rock Band anymore. They've announced Rock Band 2, and Australia hasn't even gotten the original. If we weren't valuable enough customers for them to release the first game here, they don't get my money for the second game. Also, Guitar Hero World Tour looks more impressive. The only drawcard I've seen Harmonix pull is backwards compatible DLC. I'd much rather RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO around in the GHWT music studio.

Nice attempt at generalization, but I actually do play real guitar. Guitar Hero is a game, and a damn fun one at that. Not everyone who plays GH doesn't play guitar, and vice versa.

It's just nice to be able to play songs like Raining Blood and Freebird and Play With Me, etc. Songs that are insanely hard on real guitar that take years to learn, even if it is with a plastic guitar.

I would say no, mainly because I beat it in 3 hours (all expert songs). If you're an avid fan, I'm guessing you're decent, the game will be pitifully easy. I'm not that much of a fan, there are only 41 songs (and John Perry's solo stuff is terrible), no co-op career, and when you activate star power the crowd claps OFF BEAT. Wasted $50 bucks on the wii version o.O

About GH: Aerosmith though, that kinda sucks. Might pick it up once it drops to ~$25 in that case.

Rock Band 2 is rumored to have AC/DC content on it. So says Wikipedia, anyway.

*does the Angus Young duckwalk and spasm to celebrate*

Oh, and I have a Fender Strat (cheap Mexican build) and a SG copy (cost more than the authentic Strat oO) - so ya boo to you. It's like saying "why play GW? Go out and kill dwarfs with an axe"

I'm waiting for them to do Polka Hero: Weird Al. Maybe then I'll get interested in the series.

Hooray I get to post next to Inde! 'Tis an honor

I can't wait for World Tour (October 27th) since it's going to allow you to put your own songs in without hacks/mods. If you want Guitar Hero: The Who just load up Teenage Wasteland and go to town!

That's not how it works at all. The game will take input from the player (so you tap out the song), with the ability to change the pitch of each note in different ways. It will set expert to what you tap out and generate hard/medium/easy notecharts itself. If you suck at drums/bass/guitar, you can play your part and set up pre set loops for other instruments. Also, it's sans vocals. Their legal team squashed vocals almost immediately.
